Heather had a forest wedding at Angelus Mountain Center and chose a Picnic Theme menu- BBQ Jackfruit, Fresh Grilled Corn, Mac and Cheese, Spinach and Artichoke Heart Dip, Homemade Rolls with Maple Basil Butter and Assorted Mini-Pies for dessert. It was perfect and everyone loved it, all 130 guest, most of them non-vegans.

THERE! How hooked up are you!? These are the most beautiful venues we have found. All in one place.

Now for the dress….

Most wedding dresses are made of silk, which unfortunately is made like this:

How is Silk Made?

Mass-produced silk is made from domesticated silkworms, Bombyx mori, raised on farms. The silkworms, who are in the caterpillar stage of the silk moth, are fed mulberry leaves until they are ready to spin cocoons and enter their pupal stage. The silk is secreted as a liquid from two glands in the caterpillar’s head. While they are still in their pupal stage, the cocoons are placed in boiling water, which kills the silkworms and begins the process of unraveling the cocoons to produce silk thread.

I’m super excited for my upcoming LA wedding catered by Eco Caters!! I ended up going with the Maxwell House in Pasadena for my venue and found an amazing silk-free lace dress in downtown LA at Aria. Oh and thanks to your mom for the tip on the men’s department at Macy’s at the Beverly Center. There were quite a few suits made without silk/wool!
